Woman's Body Found in Torched Vehicle Along Olkeri–Matasha Road in Kajiado

Panic gripped residents along the Olkeri–Matasha Road in Kajiado County after a human body was discovered inside a vehicle that had been completely destroyed by fire.

The incident was reported at around 10.30pm on October 2, 2026, drawing police officers to the scene after members of the public raised the alarm. Officers established that a white Toyota Fielder had been reduced to ashes after catching fire at about 7.30pm, parked inside a private farm roughly 50 metres off the main road.

Inside the burnt vehicle, officers found a gas cylinder and the body of a woman, burnt beyond recognition. Witnesses claimed the victim may have been tied inside the car before it was set alight, sparking fears of foul play.

Crime Scene Investigation officers from Ongata Rongai documented the scene before the remains were transferred to Nairobi City Mortuary for preservation and further examination. Police are investigating several aspects of the case, including the cause of the fire, how the woman ended up inside the vehicle, and whether the fire was accidental or deliberately started.

Residents who gathered at the scene expressed shock and fear, with some speculating the incident could be linked to criminal activity. Police have not ruled out any possibility, including arson or murder, as investigations continue.

Authorities have appealed to anyone with information to come forward. The case has raised fresh concern over insecurity in the region, with locals calling for swift action to ensure justice for the victim.
