Linda Mwananchi Launch Shows Strength, But Absences Hint at Cracks

Edwin Sifuna’s unveiling of the Linda Mwananchi headquarters was designed to showcase unity, with Rigathi Gachagua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa and Babu Owino all in attendance.

But the absence of Winnie Odinga and James Orengo added intrigue. Winnie is eyeing Nairobi Senate, while Orengo is building his own Liberal Democratic Party and pushing for transparent nominations.

Their no‑shows suggest that while Linda Mwananchi is gaining momentum, fragmentation remains a risk. The November 13 convention will be a crucial test of whether the movement can consolidate or whether rival ambitions will pull it apart.

For now, Sifuna has the spotlight — but the missing faces remind Kenyans that opposition unity is far from guaranteed.

Miguna Miguna's Latest Reports: The NIS and KK paid bloggers, including those pretending to be protesters, are desperately trying to cause divisions

Miguna Miguna recently made a statement regarding the actions of the Kenya Kwaza government, alleging that they are actively seeking out individuals to disrupt the protests of the Gen Zs. According to Miguna Miguna, the National Intelligence Service (NIS) and the Kenya Kwaza (KK) have resorted to paying bloggers, some of whom are posing as protesters, in an attempt to sow discord and create divisions within the protesting community. In his statement, Miguna Miguna urged the people of Kenya to remain united and not allow themselves to be divided by the tactics of those seeking to cause confusion and discord. He emphasized that the struggles faced by the citizens of Kenya are shared by all, and that the country belongs to everyone. Miguna Miguna called for so...

Milk, Not Manifestos: Why Senator Tabitha Karanja Says She Quit UDA

When politicians change parties, the explanation is usually about principle, loyalty or the party's direction. Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja has given a far more everyday reason for leaving President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) for Rigathi Gachagua's Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP): the lack of milk on the market. Karanja named the milk situation as one of the reasons behind her decision. It is an unusually specific grievance for a defection announcement, and it puts a household product at the center of a political story that is normally told through power struggles and alliances. Her move comes hours after Gathoni Wamuchomba announced she was leaving UDA to defend her position on another ticket. Both exits point to the Mt Kenya region, where UDA has been losing members to the DCP ahead of next year's general election. What remains unclear is how much the milk complaint weighs against the other factors that typically drive such moves, and whe...
