Early-morning commuters at risk as Kibra worker killed on his way to work

A 49-year-old man heading to work before dawn became the latest victim of violent robbery in Nairobi, after he was stabbed to death in Lindi, Kibra, at about 5.30am on Friday.

Jacob Odhiambo Alube was set upon by a gang that took his valuables, including his phone. Police say he was killed after he tried to resist. Bloodstains found several metres from his body suggest he struggled with his attackers before he fell.

Detectives from Kibera Police Station recovered a toy pistol near the scene and have kept it as an exhibit, though police have not said whether it belonged to the attackers. Scenes of Crime officers processed the area, and Alube's body is at Nairobi Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem.

The killing again raises concern for people who leave home in the dark to reach work on time. Police say they are pursuing the suspects.

ODM Politician Warns Ruto: These Individuals Are Unfit for Appointment

R obert Alai has recently expressed his views on the matter of former governors being appointed by President William Ruto. According to Alai, governors who have served more than two terms should not be considered for any appointments. He further emphasized that President Ruto should avoid appointing anyone who has already served as governor for two terms, suggesting that this group should be completely excluded from consideration. This stance has sparked a significant amount of discussion among Kenyans on various social media platforms, with many individuals sharing their perspectives on the issue. Alai's argument seems to stem from a desire for a change in leadership and the introduction of new ideas into the government system. He is advocating for action to be taken, indicating that reappointing former governors who have had a substantial impact on their respective counties could impede the progress and transformation necessary for national development. This perspective reflects...
