Clean Shoes, Faint Tyre Marks: Why Police Suspect a Man Found Near Unyaa Dam Was Killed Elsewhere


Police in Kitui County have opened an investigation after the body of an unidentified middle-aged man was found near Unyaa Dam in Kitui Central Sub-County. The man has not been identified.


The scene raised questions for officers. The body had two puncture wounds on the left ear, and blood had oozed from multiple injuries to the head and chest. Yet the man's black rubber shoes and clothing appeared clean despite those injuries. Police said that raised suspicion he may have been killed elsewhere and his body brought to the spot.


Faint vehicle tyre marks were also observed leading towards the scene, a few metres from the dam. The story does not say whether police have linked the marks to any vehicle.


Officers processed the scene and moved the body to the Kitui County Referral Hospital mortuary, where it awaits identification and further examination. Police are investigating the circumstances of the death. No suspect has been reported and no motive has been given.
