Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has fired a fresh salvo at the opposition, dismissing Edwin Sifuna’s presidential bid as “easy work” for UDA.
His remarks come as Rigathi Gachagua, the former Deputy President, has said he is open to deputising Sifuna, while insisting he remains a serious contender himself. Gachagua has maintained that the opposition must field a single candidate to avoid a run‑off.
Cheruiyot’s comments cast Ichung’wah as UDA’s frontman, while portraying Sifuna and Gachagua as a weak ticket. The jibe reflects UDA’s confidence but also exposes the delicate balancing act within the opposition as succession negotiations intensify.
