Gor Mahia Humiliated 7-1 by Pyramids But Will Still Pocket Millions
Gor Mahia's CAF Champions League dream is over after a heavy defeat.
The Kenyan champions were thrashed 7-1 on aggregate by Pyramids FC.
K'Ogalo had lost 2-0 at home in Nairobi in the first leg.
They lost 5-1 in Cairo in the second leg. Pyramids scored two goals in stoppage time.
Walid El Karti scored in the 27th minute. Nasser Maher made it 2-0.
Youssef Obama added a third goal. Paul Okoth scored for Gor Mahia.
Mustafa Zico and Mahmoud Zalaka completed the rout in stoppage time.
Despite the elimination, Gor Mahia will not leave empty-handed.
CAF will give them 100,000 dollars as consolation. It is about KSh 12.9 million.
If they had reached group stages, they would have earned 700,000 dollars.
Gor Mahia will now focus on FKF Premier League. The season starts on September 19.
