"Flu Can't Cause Burns": Nairobi Family Rejects Madrassa's Explanation After Son Returns Home in Body Bag

A trip for spiritual healing turned into tragedy for a Nairobi family after their 28-year-old son died at a madrassa in Makindu, Makueni County.

Ahmed Amir, 28, had travelled to the institution seeking spiritual guidance. But on the morning of September 4, his family was called and told he was dead.

The madrassa claimed Ahmed died of flu. His family says the state of his body tells a completely different story.

"They told us on Friday, September 4 morning that he was dead. Now tell me what kind of flu comes with burns on the body and wounds on the body, including the head," a distraught family member posed.

A witness who saw the body described disturbing injuries including a swollen arm, burnt tissues on the hands and fingers, and torture marks on his legs.

The autopsy report has now confirmed the family's fears, indicating widespread trauma consistent with systemic torture.

The family now alleges that Ahmed is not the first to die at the facility under unclear circumstances.

"We believe Ahmed will be the last; this will not just go away like that," the family said.

Human rights lobby Vocal Africa is now demanding the immediate arrest of the sheikh heading the institution and the closure of the madrassa.

CEO Hussein Khalid said witnesses inside the facility are too scared to speak, and no credible investigation can happen while the centre remains open.

ODM Politician Warns Ruto: These Individuals Are Unfit for Appointment

R obert Alai has recently expressed his views on the matter of former governors being appointed by President William Ruto. According to Alai, governors who have served more than two terms should not be considered for any appointments. He further emphasized that President Ruto should avoid appointing anyone who has already served as governor for two terms, suggesting that this group should be completely excluded from consideration. This stance has sparked a significant amount of discussion among Kenyans on various social media platforms, with many individuals sharing their perspectives on the issue. Alai's argument seems to stem from a desire for a change in leadership and the introduction of new ideas into the government system. He is advocating for action to be taken, indicating that reappointing former governors who have had a substantial impact on their respective counties could impede the progress and transformation necessary for national development. This perspective reflects...
