Catholic Priest Found Dead at Doldol Parish in Laikipia North

The Catholic community in Laikipia North is mourning after a priest was found dead inside his room at Our Lady of Rosary Doldol Parish.

Father Lucio Karioki was discovered on Tuesday morning after a fellow priest grew concerned when he failed to respond ahead of the parish's scheduled morning Mass. The alarm was raised at around 6:30 a.m., after repeated attempts to wake him went unanswered. His colleague alerted police, who arrived to find his room locked from the inside.

Officers were forced to force entry into the room, where they found Father Karioki unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police who examined the body reported no visible external injuries, though foam was observed coming from his mouth — a detail that has raised questions about what may have occurred before his death.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear. His body was taken to the mortuary at Nanyuki Level Five Hospital, where a postmortem examination is expected to help determine the cause of death. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to establish the sequence of events leading up to it.

Father Karioki's death has left the local Catholic community mourning the loss of a priest well known and appreciated for his service at the parish.

The case comes amid renewed public attention on other unexplained deaths reported around the country in recent days. In Kilifi County, for instance, a 68-year-old security officer was found dead inside a coolant-containing cooling plant at a company in Rabai; police reported no visible injuries on his body and have ordered an autopsy.

For the Doldol parish community, though, attention remains on Father Karioki, as members await answers from the pending postmortem.

ODM Politician Warns Ruto: These Individuals Are Unfit for Appointment

R obert Alai has recently expressed his views on the matter of former governors being appointed by President William Ruto. According to Alai, governors who have served more than two terms should not be considered for any appointments. He further emphasized that President Ruto should avoid appointing anyone who has already served as governor for two terms, suggesting that this group should be completely excluded from consideration. This stance has sparked a significant amount of discussion among Kenyans on various social media platforms, with many individuals sharing their perspectives on the issue. Alai's argument seems to stem from a desire for a change in leadership and the introduction of new ideas into the government system. He is advocating for action to be taken, indicating that reappointing former governors who have had a substantial impact on their respective counties could impede the progress and transformation necessary for national development. This perspective reflects...
