Cargo Truck Bursts Into Flames at Mtwapa Bridge, Road Closed as Fire Crews Respond

A cargo truck has caught fire at Mtwapa Bridge following an accident, prompting police to shut down the route while crews work to clear the blaze.

According to reports from the scene, the truck burst into flames after the crash, and officers have warned motorists to avoid the area entirely since the wreckage is currently blocking the road. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been established, and investigations are ongoing.

Fortunately, no injuries or deaths have been reported — all occupants of the truck are said to have escaped safely before the fire took hold. The vehicle itself, however, has reportedly been destroyed, and firefighters remain on site battling the blaze as residents gather to watch from nearby.

Motorists heading toward the area should expect long delays due to the resulting traffic buildup and are advised to seek alternative routes where possible. Authorities are also using the incident as a reminder for drivers to exercise caution on the roads to help prevent similar accidents.
