Atandi Mocks Orengo's Presidential Bid Amid Growing Linda Mwananchi Rivalry With Sifuna

A social media post from MP Sam Atandi has added a new twist to the growing contest within Linda Mwananchi, with Siaya Governor James Orengo facing fresh criticism over how he's pursuing his presidential ambitions ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Atandi appeared to mock Orengo after a post suggesting the governor is positioning himself as Linda Mwananchi's presidential candidate. He questioned why Orengo was relying on ordinary supporters to make his case, claiming even a nominated MCA hadn't stepped up to champion his bid.

The remarks land at a sensitive moment for Linda Mwananchi, where Orengo and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna have emerged as competing contenders for the movement's presidential ticket. Orengo declared himself a serious candidate in August, arguing that competing ambitions within the movement should be allowed and that the eventual flag bearer should emerge through a credible, agreed process.

That stance has put him at odds with supporters who believe Sifuna has already built substantial backing within the movement — several leaders have publicly thrown their weight behind the senator, while Orengo maintains that the nomination question shouldn't be settled without proper consultation.

Atandi's comments add another layer to what has become an increasingly public contest. Rather than settling the question of who should lead Linda Mwananchi into 2027, Orengo's declaration has instead opened up debate over his actual support base and strategy — with political observers now watching closely whether the movement can accommodate competing presidential ambitions without deeper fractures.

For now, Orengo continues to defend his right to seek the nomination, while Sifuna's camp continues to present him as their preferred candidate. How the eventual nomination process unfolds could determine how both camps proceed from here.

ODM Politician Warns Ruto: These Individuals Are Unfit for Appointment

R obert Alai has recently expressed his views on the matter of former governors being appointed by President William Ruto. According to Alai, governors who have served more than two terms should not be considered for any appointments. He further emphasized that President Ruto should avoid appointing anyone who has already served as governor for two terms, suggesting that this group should be completely excluded from consideration. This stance has sparked a significant amount of discussion among Kenyans on various social media platforms, with many individuals sharing their perspectives on the issue. Alai's argument seems to stem from a desire for a change in leadership and the introduction of new ideas into the government system. He is advocating for action to be taken, indicating that reappointing former governors who have had a substantial impact on their respective counties could impede the progress and transformation necessary for national development. This perspective reflects...
